Traditional Cornish

The Cornish pasty was created for the rugged miners, working to the max, down in the depths of the sooty tin mines. This is the essence of the time-honoured tradition of the Cornish pasty. Our pasty has officially won the title of ‘The World’s Best Traditional Pasty’ at the World Pasty Championships and is the perfect blend of the classic ingredients: layered beef, swede, onion, potato and a hint of black pepper. We make our Traditional pasties in the absolutely traditional way, which means we handmake each one, layering in chunks of beautiful beef, rather than mixing or mincing the ingredients in the way some others might choose to do. And then we wrap the traditional mix in a hand crimped pastry case of course.

Bacon, Leek & Cheese

A previous winner of the British Pie Awards, the Bacon, Leek & Cheese Pasty is a firm favourite in our bakeries all over the UK. The pasty is a modern and innovative take on the Cornish traditional; a savoury mix of invigorating smoky bacon, discernible British cheddar cheese, fresh leeks and vegetables, all bound together in a béchamel sauce and encased in a hand crimp. Baked before the seagulls wake and as comforting as a morning bacon sarnie.

Storage and temperature instructions

Our award winning pasties are made by hand in Cornwall before the seagulls awaken, and are delivered to you raw, frozen and ready for you to bake on your specified delivery day.

To ensure you get the optimum pasty experience, our advice is that you place them in the freezer before 3pm on the day of delivery.

Keep the pasties frozen until you are ready to prepare them. We recommend you keep in the freezer for no more than six months.

Cooking guidelines

Pre-heat your oven at 185˚C/Gas mark 4. Take your pasties out of the freezer and arrange them neatly on a baking tray. Bake for approximately 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Ensure the pasties are cooked thoroughly before serving.

An old Cornish tradition after baking is to place them on your kitchen work surface and cover with a tea towel for around 30 minutes. Then enjoy at at a perfect temperature (we think 55-65°C). Whether you go for this or not, enjoy to the max!
